About Kumiko
Kumiko is a 1200 year-old Japanese artistic woodworking technique. The method is very sophisticated and involves precise cutting, mortising and shaping of thin wooden strips. The shapes are delicately assembled into a grid using a plane or a chisel to make very fine adjustments to each piece.
